Something NEW is Coming

I get a lot of questions about running a photography business.

I mean, A LOT of them. And don’t get me wrong, I love them. I love them as much as I love pie, and, that’s a lot of love. But I don’t always get a chance to answer them the way I want to. You know, ’cause I’m running a business and there’s only so many hours in a day.

See, I’ve been on this thing called The Facebook imparting my own brand of photography Missy-isms for over ten years, which is less than a third of the time I’ve been in business. Yes, my living is made with my camera and with my studio and with my clients. It’s not made trying to convince you I have a successful photography business so you’ll give me money. The list of people doing that is as long as my arm. And I have really long arms. Like, chimpanzee long.

But the questions…they keep coming. And understandably so. Don’t get me wrong, other people are answering those questions, but much of the time the answers make me want to roll my eyes so far back into my head that I fear they’ll get stuck. My mom warned me about this. I’m still afraid it will happen.

So…I am taking the very small amount of free time I have and doing a thing. It’s a thing I’m pretty excited about. It’s called THE LOWER LEVEL LOUNGE. Why the lower level? Because we are being real and taking down to the nitty gritty. Plus, the set is in a basement, so…

It involves me, a bar, photography business talk, entertainment, a video library, Q&A’s, downloadable content to use in YOUR studio, a one-eyed rabbit, and cocktails. It’s photography edutainment done MY way.
Will there be guests? Eventually, yes.
Will there be live remotes? Oh, you bet your sweet bippy.

What it WON’T entail is me lighting up your inbox; I’m not into that. I don’t like it when it happens to me and I’m certainly not going to do that to you. If you want to join, I’m thrilled. If not, that’s okay, too. We are friends either way.

It also won’t involve me giving you guarantees or blaming YOU when something doesn’t work. There is no one way to do anything, despite what a lot of business coaches tell you. What I will do is tell what has worked for ME for over 30 years. You can ignore it, you can apply it, or you can take bits and pieces and apply it to your business.

It will be on a subscription basis and you pick what you want. (Listen, kids, I am doing this in my limited free time which will eliminate a lot of free time. Throw me a bone, here.) But it will be affordable. Nay, CHEAP. Like, the price of a cup or two of coffee kind of cheap. Because I happen to think education SHOULD be affordable.

But..(yes, there is a big but here, and it’s not the one I’m sitting on) I must warn you. There are people who SHOULD NOT JOIN.

Don’t join if:
You are easily offended
If you were born without a sense of humor
If you are too serious
If you aren’t serious enough
If you adore bullsh*t
If you don’t think learning and fun can go together.

I’m telling you, kids. I’m like cilantro…I’m not for everybody.
But I walk the talk and I love this industry.
And did I mention there’s a one-eyed rabbit?
