Hi. My name is Missy.
You’ve probably happened upon this website because you have waded into the Sea of Photography or are dog paddling around in the Ocean of Life. The way I see it, either body of water you find yourself in, you’re going to need a guide. Plain and simple.
That’s why I am here. Take my hand…it’s okay.
I won’t bore you with the usual bio: “I’m married to my best friend and we have 2 wonderful children that keep me super duper busy. I love pink lipstick and Starbucks lattes, and writing and photography are my passion. I emerged from the womb clutching a camera and my first word was “f-stop.”
No, we don’t do that here.
Instead, I will tell you that I am an eater of bacon, lover of vodka and a guide through the murky waters. I have worked in photography for over 20 years, and since years in the photography industry are measured like dog years, I really should be dead by now.
My writing has appeared in PetaPixel, DIY Photography, Southern Exposure, and Rangefinder Magazine, as well all over the Internet. I was named by Shutter Magazine as #2 on the list of Most Influential Photographers and to this day, I still sleep with my award.
If you take yourself very seriously, this probably isn’t the site for you, because if the photography industry was a school cafeteria, the people who read this blog would be the fun table in the corner, blowing bubbles in their milk and eating their dessert first.
And laughing at the nonsense.
xoxo
